Five things about the BlackBerry 9700 that make it better than other BlackBerrys
Trackpad
For some time, BlackBerry mobile phones have had a trackball mounted between the keypad and the screen. By rolling the trackball with your thumb, you scrolled through the icons and menus of the interface.
Prior to this, BlackBerry used a scroll wheel set into the side of the phone. Using your thumb, you moved the wheel up or down to move around the screen. When you wanted to open an icon, menu or file, you pressed the wheel.
Many people still have BlackBerry phones with trackpads and even scroll wheels. But the BlackBerry 9700 represents a departure from this approach. It uses an optical trackpad.
